Our Previous Projects
We have completed the basic research on genetic diversity of kelampayan from natural and planted forests, genetic marker (SSRs) development, ‘Touch-incubate-PCR’ approach for preparing plant tissues for high throughput genotyping, and Kelampayan tree transcriptome database (NcdbEST) for wood formation. This information provides us the useful resources for association genetics or known as genomics-based breeding in kelampayan. [read more...]

Our Latest ProjectsCADAMBATREE is a research project
designed to better understand or to enhance the forest productivity in
order to satisfy the needs of the forest-based sector through fundamental and
applied research.. We adopt a multi-disciplinary research approach by
combining expertise from a range of disciplines, including quantitative
genetics and breeding, population genetics, genomics, bioinformatics, silviculture,
tissue culture, forestry and wood technology.

Our R&D Team
We start from a very humble beginning but with a great spirits of innovation and enterprise in forest genomics and bioinformatics researchers, we have achieved several important milestones over the years. we will never forget our humble roots because as we remember where we come from and utilize the best traditions of the past, this will help us to move forward progressively. Indeed, we have pride in our past and faith in our future. A Trust To Keep A Dream To Fulfill! [read more...]

Research project on track to conserve forest resources
A 3-year project entitled 'SNP discovery through transcriptome sequencing and association mapping of kelampayan' is now underway with an ultimate aim of conserving the state's natural resources so as to mitigate climate change. The project is a joint venture between UNIMAS and STA.
